Winters is located in Yolo County and is known for its charming downtown area that is on the National Register of Historic Places.  The city is named after businessman Theodore W. Winters who donated a large portion of land to the city. The diverse farming community produces sunflowers, tomatoes, olives, onions, alfalfa, rice, walnuts and peaches.
