Partner Opportunities Program (POP)

Under the direction of the Vice Provost—Academic Affairs, the UC Davis Partner Opportunities Program (POP) is a service designed to support departments and deans offices in the recruitment and retention of outstanding faculty by assisting their partners and spouses in seeking employment at UC Davis. POP services typically includes assistance for a partner/spouse who is looking for employment opportunities at UC Davis. POP can serve as a resource to explore career goals, job opportunities and/or arrange contacts and informational interviews. It is important to note, however, that POP cannot guarantee job placement or the successful resolution of employment issues.

Who is Eligible?

Eligibility is limited to prospective or current full-time:

  • Academic Senate Ladder Rank faculty (Assistant, Associate or Full Professor)
  • Cooperative Extension Specialists
  • Deans
  • Faculty Administrators
  • Lecturers with Potential Security of Employment
  • Members of the Senior Management Group

Capital Resource Network

The Capital Resource Network (CRN) provides confidential dual career support and family integration services. These services aim to ease the transition for newly relocated hires and their families while providing them with professional, social, and personal support during the first six months upon arrival.

The CRN works directly with the spouse/partner of the new employee on multiple strategies for gaining employment in the region.  One unique aspect of the program includes coordination of informational meetings. Networking does not guarantee employment; however, it offers access to invaluable job search elements such as advice about the local landscape, questions about future hiring, potential referrals to colleagues, and an essential in-person exchange.
