Brentwood is located in Contra Costa County in the region known as the East Bay.  It began as a farming community in the late nineteenth century, and is known throughout the Bay Area for its agricultural products, primarily its cherries, corn and peaches. The water tower in the downtown area is an iconic landmark that is not longer used to store water, but is a cell phone tower.
